Before getting involved with Ravens, Sedrick, 20, spent more than six years in the Kampiringisa Rehabilitation Center due to domestic issues. His dreams of a bright future dwindled as he outgrew the center’s age limit. But this all changed when a staff member told him about Ravens Ministries.

In 2019, Sedrick applied for our program and was accepted. Today, Ravens like you provide him with comprehensive care, including discipleship, education, nutrition, shelter, and healthcare.

In his time with Ravens Ministries, Sedrick’s soccer, art, crafts, baking, and dance talents flourished. He even formed a dance group and now performs at Sunday church services.

Your contributions make stories like Sedrick’s possible, empowering young lives to overcome challenges and chase their dreams, creating a brighter tomorrow for all.

‘I felt so loved’: Read about Sedrick’s experience in April 2022

Meet Sedrick, a student supported by friends like you. Before finding out about Ravens Uganda, Sedrick had no education. He found himself feeling hopeless and alone.

“I didn’t know I would have a place to call home again,” he shared. “But through Ravens, my story has completely changed.”

When asked about our volunteer trip in April, he shared how memorable his experience was.

“I felt so loved, especially when most of the people on the team knew us by name,” Sedrick shared. “The way we connected with them was special, especially with auntie Kelly even though it was our first time meeting her.”

For me, Ravens is a place where an opportunity opened up for me to experience true love. It is a place of renewal, restoration, and love.”

Sedrick, Rebecca, and Kelly share a common love for baking. They used ingredients both bought in Uganda and brought from the U.S. to make carrot cake cupcakes and brownies. It was a special experience for all. Read more here.

For a week in April, students had a chance to fellowship with volunteers visiting from the U.S., both in larger settings and smaller groups.

“As a student, I have seen how the work is changing our lives holistically,” he shared. “I am humbled to see real work on the ground, especially when we are reached out to like family.”
